Make a study schedule for midterms

To make a study schedule with AI, give it your real exam dates and the topics you are shaky on. The plan tells you what to practice. Follow your school's AI policy. It does not study for you.

Next step: do Step 1. Copy the box, fill in the blanks, and paste it into the chat.

A prompt is the message you paste. A Director check is a short look before you use the result.

School๐Ÿ›  ChatGPT, Gemini or Claude (free)โฑ 20 minutesโœ… A plan you can follow this week

What you'll need

  • Exam dates, class names, and what each exam covers
  • Hours you actually have, including work, practice, and sleep
  • Your school's or teacher's AI rules

Step 1: Give it the real calendar

Help me build a study schedule for midterms. Do not do any of the studying or write any assignment.

Today is [date].
Exams:
[class, date, time, topics]

Hours I can study:
[example: weeknights 7 to 9, Saturday 10 to 1]
I need sleep by [time].
Topics I am shaky on: [list]
Topics I already know: [list]

Make a plan from today until the last exam:
- Each block is 25 to 45 minutes with the class, the topic, and the action (quiz myself, rework a problem, reread one section and close the book)
- No block says "AI writes" or "summarize the chapter for me"
- Put the shakiest topic earlier in the day I have energy
- Leave one short review the day before each exam, not a new topic
- If the calendar does not fit, say what to cut and why

Then stop. I will follow the plan myself.

Step 2: Fix the plan against your real life

Move any block that hits practice, a shift, or a class. Delete a block you know you will skip. A plan you will ignore is not a plan.

Step 3: Do the first block without a rewrite

Set a timer. For that block, recall or rework problems with the book closed, then check. If you are stuck, ask for a hint, not the finished problem:

I'm on this block: [paste the block].
Ask me one question a teacher would ask. Wait for my answer. If I'm wrong, give a hint, not the solution.
Do not write an essay, a lab report, or the answer I would hand in.
Director check: look before you use it
  • Does the plan respect sleep and the hours you really have? If it only works if you skip sleep, cut topics, don't cut sleep.
  • Is every action something you do, not something the chat produces? "Write my discussion post" does not belong here.
  • Are you following your school's AI rules? When a teacher has said no AI, that class stays out of the chat.
  • Can you start the next block without rereading this whole page? If the plan is too clever to follow, simplify it to a list on paper.

What you do inside each block, if the class allows a tutor, is Build a weekly ChatGPT study routine. The schedule is the calendar. The routine is the session. A single exam night is Study for an exam.

One extra tip

In ChatGPT, open the tools menu and choose Study and learn if you see it. It is free, and it asks you questions instead of handing you the answer. Use it for one block on the schedule, not to produce work you will turn in.

Common questions

Is using AI to plan my studying allowed?

Planning your time is usually fine. Having AI do graded work is not. Follow your teacher's and school's AI policy. If they banned AI for a class, leave that class out of the chat.

What if I have three exams in two days?

Say that up front. A useful plan drops low-value review and puts the heaviest topic in your best hour. It does not pretend you have 12 free hours.

Should the plan include finishing a paper for me?

No. The plan can block time to write. You write it.
